Wifey's been making a few enquiries and yesterday we got this from one of her contacts (names witheld to protect the innocent):

 Thank for your reply and booking, you will get whatever your needs such as quite double room, extra pillows, Non-smoking with ceiling fan.

 

 Our man will meet you at train station on 2nd March at 16:30 with your name written board , that picking up service is free of charge with my pleasure.

 

  ( Sat TV, Wifi for internet connections are compulsory of hotel, feel free and you can enjoy our service )

Isn't that so sweet?  Even if half the stuff doesn't materialise it looks like we've picked up another winner again.  I'm already looking forward to our next five nights' stay.

And the Rest of the Gang

The crows have a nest in the tree directly outside our room, the cockerels are in the yard of our neighbour who is behind the house (and so next to our room), as is their dog, and all of the noise is funnelled through into where we are kipping because above the door is a louvre window that is not glazed but open to the elements.  Which is identical to the bathroom.

No wonder noise and mosquitoes can get in at will.

Still, it's been a comfortable stay and we leave for Galle tomorrow.  :o)

Ah, Ha

Solved the mystery of the ice-cream jingles at stupid o'clock.  They are the chimes of the mobile bakery.  Really, the gadgy drives his van around to sell loaves of bread and pastries.  All at around 06:00 to the tune of "Bod" on speed.

60th Month

March 2011 sees us begin our 60th month on the road and we're now just one away from doing five years away from the UK, simply travelling the four corners of world. 

Well, all points in Asia at the moment.  :o)
