Forgotten Something?

We missed Julie last night after arranging to meet her at Henry's,the other place we've been using quite frequently during our holiday.  However, we just saw her at Nirvana's and she explained that "one thing led to another" and before she knew it she had gone off with a friend of hers, after a few beers.  It all goes a bit blurry after that, :o) , particularly the "getting home bit" as she had her bike outside her friend's apartment and yet she couldn't recall riding back.

More confusingly, her friend also had no recollection of the return ride and more worryingly, he could not find his bike or keys anywhere.

Luckily the mystery was solved when Joe, our waiter, overheard the conversation and explained what had gone down the previous night.  He had taken Julie's keys off her as she was not fit to ride (now that's a good barman) and given her a lift back on her scooter.  Her pal had ridden his own bike back but then had given Joe his keys, so that Joe could get back to the bar and close up/finish off for the night.

Joe had put the bike away safely in Nirvana's and had kept the keys for safekeeping, while Julies friend had been looking for his bike everywhere all morning long...

My how Julie tittered when she rang him to give him the bad news.
