As many as 15 000 council workers earning more than £58 000 a year are to be named under government plans to force local authorities to cut middle management waste, according to TTel.
I can understand the theory, focus on “middle management waste” before scrapping front-line services, but surely this is a gross invasion of privacy? Isn't this one of the fundamental rights of any working Brit, to keep their salary private?
How would you like to see your annual pay published in the local rag for the neighbours to have a good gossip about?
