Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs, or Plastic Plods) from almost half of the country’s Farces have failed to solve a single crime in the past three years.
Figures suggest it will takean average of 12 years to solve a crime, despite Dibble spending £1.2 billion* funding the "officers" since 2007. They also show that PCSOs cost taxpayers up to £300 000 for each offence they detect.
Seems like the perfect place to start making cuts.
*This amount could have funded 7 200 full-time Rozzers.
