A retired gardener man nearly died of hypothermia when he collapsed in a Salisbury street and passers-by ignored him for five hours. He was walking to his doctor’s surgery when he fell unconscious on the pavement at about 08:00, but hundreds of pedestrians and motorists just walked past until someone finally dialled 999 at 12:40.
When paramedics arrived minutes later, his body temperature had fallen to 26 C and he was nearly dead.
Shame on everyone who just ignored the old feller. It makes our reporting the unconscious person earlier this week to Plod the correct decision- better safe than sorry.
