Naming and Shaming

MPs who misuse their expenses will finally be named and shamed after the Commons gave way to pressure to end the discredited system of secret immunity deals.

Following a Commons vote, all formal expenses investigations resolved by clandestine arrangements dating back three years will be made public by the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner.  The move comes after TTel disclosed that deals which were supposed to conclude “minor” breaches of the rules were in fact being used to resolve cases involving the misuse of thousands of pounds of taxpayers’ money.

Jolly good.
