MPs will take their earliest summer break for more than 30 years during the London Olympics. Parliament will rise on 13th July to avoid the tight road restrictions being put in place for the Games.
It was not clear whether MPs, who are currently on their Whitsun break from Parliament, will get at least a week extra away from Westminster next summer or have to return early. If they get an extra week, it will mean they are away from the Commons for eight weeks during July, August and the start of September.
