Britons are the fattest people in Europe and the fifth most overweight of the world's 33 most developed nations.
America tops the list, with more than three out of ten men and women clinically obese, followed by Mexico, Chile and New Zealand.
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development report found a quarter of adults in Britain are obese.
