Walking Our Legs Off

We have literally walked miles and have seen so much around the area.  It is chock full of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and all the establishments one would expect from a major, modern capital city and it's been so good to check them out in the comfort of air conditioning and clean surroundings.

Taipei is very clean and you'd be hard pressed to find any kind of litter or rubbish on the streets.  The people are also very polite and friendly and no one worries about people riding their bikes on the pavement or the scooters taking a short cut through pedestrian areas.

There is also a large flyover through the centre of the district which they utilise as car parking space underneath.  During the weekend, this becomes an area for covered markets and we wandered through the flower, jade and artists' markets yesterday.  Fabulous.

They also have HUGE shopping malls, the biggest of which are called Sogo- and one has over 15 floors of department stores and shops.  The supermarkets offer all manner of items and the food courts are simply fantastic.

Yes, we're having fun in Taipei and will most certainly be coming back in the future.
