More money than ever will be spent online this Christmas, but data compiled by payment processing firm Retail Decisions (ReD) shows the average transaction has dropped in value. It says the amount spent in each transaction has fallen to £130 in the year-to-date from just under £160 at this point in 2009.
The firm also predicts the average transaction on Mega Monday– the busiest online shopping day, 6th December, will be £104, down from £128 on the equivalent date last year.
I'm surprised it's not even less.
