Taipei has plenty of post offices around and you'll see them almost on every block. I picked one at random hoping to buy some postcards and stamps but couldn't find any cards and so ended up trying to purchase stamps.
I'm not sure who was more nervous, but the chap behind the counter made such an effort to understand what I wanted and we finally managed to get things sorted out. For the first time I also noticed that postage to Canada is more expensive than to Europe.
Anyway, the stamps are in, next hurdle is to locate somewhere selling posties- having looked around yesterday, this could be more problematic as no one seems to stock them. Time to hit the tourist sites.
