Taiwanese Tidbits

  • They drive on the right
  • Nicely and without use of the horn (usually)
  • Time here is GMT + 8 (same as Malaysia)
  • Electricity is oddly 110 V (we hired a converter that we're using for the laptop but both shaver and toothbrush aren't having any of it)
  • It's not a hot at the moment, perhaps mid to late twenties and it gets dark around 18:00
  • English is understood but more so by the kids or people in the tourist business
  • Everything is in Chinese characters and finding English translations are rare
  • The people are very private but friendly and smile a lot- which is very nice
  • No fear of violence or robbery, it is entirely safe
  • Prices are more expensive than Bangkok and the city reminds me of Kowloon/Hong Kong and Macau
  • We like it- a lot  :o)
