We've been feeling a little guilty at neglecting the night market and so popped across the road for a spot of local cuisine and a "tower of Tiger". It was rammed-packed but we spotted a tiny table in the centre of the floor and were soon happily tapping toes to the live band of school kids who weren't so bad.
Next moment we see Khun Saeri approaching with a jug of beer in hand, a bucket of ice and a huge grin. He's been getting grief from higher up the chain (despite him operating at 80% capacity and his colleagues only making 40%) and wanted to let off some steam.
We had a marvellous night and also found out about the new "VIP" zone. They have some luxury leather sofas in an area with a bit more space and comfort (we peasants make do with metal tables and stools) and to be allowed to use them, the minimum requirement is to order a tower of beer.
They do three sizes of lager there, a mug, a jug and a tower, which is three litres. That's our standard amount for a night out and so next time we can hob-nob with the toffs. :o)
