Number Two Down

Bangkok Tattoo by John Burdett has now been completed and it's a worthy successor to the first outing of Sonchai Jitpleecheep (isn't that such a cool name for your lead character, a bastard half caste son of a prostitute with an unknown American GI*?) an incorruptible  detective with the Bangkok Fuzz.

The story will once keep you guessing to nearly the end, but it's the style of writing that is not only funny and fascinating but also so familiar and comforting (for those that know Bangkok a little) and you will find it hard to put down.

Luckily we have the next two (and the latest) to take with us to India but without a doubt, Burdett has been the discovery of 2010.  Brilliant.

*He does find out who his father is and makes contact with him this time.
