McEggs

The Scotch egg is predicted to make a triumphant comeback in 2011, according to a food magazine.  The hard boiled egg, which is surrounded by sausage meat and then rolled in bread crumbs, will be spotted in pubs, restaurants and shops around the country, according to Olive magazine.

It has listed the foods, tastes and trends that are likely to be popular this year, which include include liquorice, gin, plain filtered coffee rather than milky cappuccinos, restaurants that "have no airs and graces", bacon-flavoured vodka and, fior di latte, ice cream made from milk without any flavourings and considered the most sublime and purest form of the Italian treat.

Why not?  Eggs are good for you (although currently getting a bad press) and they are handy to munch on the go, as a snack at the pub or to take on a picnic.
