Hammers Take It

West Ham have won the backing of Olympic bosses in the battle for the 2012 stadium.  The Olympic Park Legacy Company executives have decided the offer from the club, which would retain the athletics track, is better than Tottenham's rival bid, who wanted to rip out the track and relocate it at Crystal Palace.  Like may people, Spurs felt a stupid track would spoil the atmosphere for watching a game with binoculars.

The OPLC board will be asked to support the view and announce the Hammers as preferred bidder on Friday (tomorrow) but the government and London's mayor will take a final decision before rubber stamping the recommendation.

Not in the least bit bothered as The Lane should stay at Tottenham and now we can concentrate on getting on with the rebuild.
