This is more like it. The museum is home to collections of sculptures, pottery, coins, weapons, period furniture and bric-a-brac in a rambling old town house ob two floors. It is located in the Bharathi Park, costs just INR 50 to get in and has the remains of archaeological findings from the Arikamedu Roman settlement. One can go through the history and legendary French colonial details in the small sections of the museum.
There is also a Bronze section containing statues of Gods and Goddesses, a wide gathering of temple lamps, handicrafts and a couple of paintings. On the top floor you have all the moth-balled furniture you could want to see.
A good way to spend a maximum of half an hour and they also have a very nice vegetarian restaurant nearby which is super for lunch.
