Goal-line technology, extra assistants and snoods are on the International Football Association Board's agenda for their next meeting on 5th March and the rumour has they may be banned. A Fifa spokesbod waffled:
"We want a debate whether it could be dangerous. There may be a safety issue- if for example a player was running through on goal and an opponent grabbed his snood, that could pose a potential danger to his neck."
Funny, my mate Arsehole Whinger swears they can in fact help prevent injury to his players. Surely he can't be wrong?
Two other items on the agenda include ensuring that if a player wears tights then they are the same colour as their shorts and the possible introduction of a "vanishing spray", which allows the referee to mark out a line a defensive wall from a set piece should not cross. The spray is used in Brazil and South America and evaporates after a minute.
