Tourists will be charged to stand astride the Greenwich Meridian line after the Royal Observatory announced plans to introduce an entry fee. From next month (March 2011), tourists wanting to enter the World Heritage location will be charged £10 after a surge in visitor numbers are apparently damaging the site.
At a scandalous tenner to get in, I'm sure the mass invasion of curious tourists will soon reduce to a trickle and everyone will be happy. Far too expensive; even a quid would be stretching things.
