I had the good fortune to get onto a brand, spanking new sky train yesterday and they really are space age. The current rolling stock are already pretty damn smart and functional, but the new ones are very pleasant indeed.
They seem wider, fresher and certainly much lighter. Full air con with TVs as per usual, but they now have an LED route display and markers that show you the length of journey so far. They'll advise you which side to alight, tell you to move along the aisle to keep the door ways free and generally, the experience is quite delightful.
Unlike a local bus trip in Sri Lanka... I still have nightmares of our trip to the cricket ground.
