We found out in Goa that the temperature does drop a little at night, making the evening a lot more comfortable as you dine al fresco. There still tons of mosquitoes to contend with but it really is very pleasant during the darker hours.
It's the same here in Banga (as the locals refer to it) but even more so. During the day the sun doesn't seem quite as fierce (but it's still hot and you'll need a sun hat for walking around) but at night it really cools down.
We chose not to have air con (A/C) in the room as we hadn't needed it in Calangute, and it's just as well. We even switched off the ceiling fan during the night as the room was more comfortable at an indicated 22 C.
