The Trip's Highlight

The train journey down (and back) to their destination, which took around five hours and had some more than impressive scenery to reflect on Rudyard Kipling's escapades.  And they also proved it doesn't matter what you know, just whom.

Apparently their man in the know managed to "reserve" an entire compartment for the group at very short notice- most locals will reserve seats up to 3 months in advance, by picking up tickets on the day and scrawling reserved on the chalk board outside their seating area.

When the conductor came along, he was slipped a bit of tea money and rumours abound it was as little as INR 100.
