After much um-ing and ah-ing, we bought a portable DVD player in the sale. Not a huge but still quite a snazzy bit of kit, it' got a fair sized screen (7.5 inches) and has all manner of options to play all kinds of media. It also includes a TV and radio tuner, which is a bonus but not really necessary.
It can be hooked up to an external, larger screen TV (so ideal for living in hotels with a DVD player) but the main reason is that if one of us can't kip, they can keep occupied with a bit of private viewing- yes, it has headphones too. One can even play games on the thing and it comes with a mini controller. Naturally it has a full remote control and it will be great for our 6 month stint in Izola, later this year.
