With limited packing, washing one's clothes becomes a priority and one can only do so much by hand before a real wash is required. Particularly after a day in the sweat box of the train.
After a couple of days searching in Yangon, we did find one laundry place which we hope to use on our return but it seems this service is scarce and so far we have not seen one laundrette in Mandalay. There was no option but to check out the hotel prices...
We were apprehensive as in Yangon the hotel wanted London prices but here it's rather good. A pair of shorts is just US$1.50 as is a T. We had the whole lot done for less than a tenner and it was returned to us within the day. We can even afford to have another wash before we head off.
