People living in the city of Portsmouth are some of smartest people in the UK, it has been found, with those living in the south coast city scoring higher than any other city in a UK-wide general knowledge quiz.
The folk from Portsmouth scored an average of 73% in the test which asked things like, what is the longest river in the world? or what is the Orion constellation is also known as?
Oxford, famed for it's university scored an average of 72% to take second place in the 3 000 person study, followed by Newcastle with 71%. The people of Aberdeen came last in the study with a score of just 53%.
