We requested an early morning alarm call to get us up at 04:00 to allow us to catch our train. The hotel said no problem and would we like a "breakfast box" as we'd be missing out. Lovely, thank you very much and sure enough, there were two packed lunches for us to take on the train.
Two fried eggs, chicken hot dogs, "bacon" and slices of toast- all cold, but it's the thought that counts, right?
During the day to save our sanity as we rattled around the metal coffin in the rising heat, we opened the boxes and found the toast was spread with jam! So much for a fried egg sarnie. Still, that was all we had on the train as the hawker food looked "interesting" and we weren't feeling too brave in sweltering conditions. Food poisoning was the last thing we wanted to arrive with.
