A student built solar-powered car has broken the world record for being the faster ever made, after reaching almost 55 mph. The team from the University of New South Wales made the run at the HMAS Albatross navy base airstrip with their creation the Sunswift IVy solar car, last week. Powered only by silicon solar cells (the batteries were removed) they drove the car to a record 88 kmh.
Not something for the UK then.
