The standard of English used by the BBC recently. Far too many Americanisms are being employed by either lazy journalists or by writers who think they have to distort the English language to stand out from the crowd. Trust me, you do but only as far as showing your ignorance.
There is no such English word as "snuck", the past tense is "sneaked" and nor is there such a word as "dove" (unless referring to a bird). Again, the past tense is "dived". And WTF is "thunk" apart from an exclamation of sound in a Batman episode? It's "thought" you morons.
There are more, similar examples of poor English and the BBC is supposedly the flagship of good English journalism? Good grief, Charlie Brown...
