Seeing as the world over is looking cut budgets, claw back revenue and generally tax the people to the hilt, why not bring in a new tax that is not only fair but can be charged on a sliding scale to reflect each individual's standing.
I'd like to propose a stupid tax.
Starting with people who own mobile phones.
This morning on my way to chuck in the laundry I waited for the lift to reach the ground floor but I had to hang on a bit longer as the lift was occupied (breakfast is a very popular affair here).
I politely waited for an elderly couple to vacate but the old gadgy was far too intent on doing something on his mobile that he barely registered he was on the ground floor and I almost missed getting in before the doors closed.
He should be taxed for being stupid and ill-mannered, as should anyone else using a mobile inappropriately. Again, double bubble for anyone with multiple phones.
