Overall, I found that there wasn't much to separate the leading sites, with just £10 total difference between booking the whole 38-flight bundle with Skyscanner (www.skyscanner.net) and with Momondo (www.momondo.com), the two best aggregate performers by a narrow margin. For the vast majority of searches, little separated prices found by Kayak (www.kayak.co.uk), Skyscanner, Travelsupermarket.com, Zugu (www.zugu.co.uk), Fly.com and Momondo.
However, Zugu, Skyscanner, Momondo, and Expedia found at least one unique, significantly cheaper flight. For example, Skyscanner undercut rivals by £50 on a Manchester–Madrid return flight in May, and Momondo shaved £30 off anyone else's best price between Perth and Bangkok in early August.
An on-going, almost daily, commentary on our travel experiences, tips and thoughts as we arrive and live in countries and places most people can only dream of. Given time, we also like to take an off-beat look at what's been making the news back in the UK or locally and so we end up taking the piss... a lot.
