Busybodies

A new beer to be launched in New Zealand's largest city, Auckland has been slammed by alcohol watchdogs concerned about its promotion as a "breakfast beer."

The cherry-flavoured wheat lager is described as "a beer the ladies can enjoy too... if you're having a champagne breakfast but don't fancy champagne, have a beer instead."

It's produced at the Moa brewery and contains 5.5% alcohol.

Why the fuss?  The Germans have had a proper breakfast beer for centuries- it's never done them any harm.  Mind you, cherry flavoured?  No, ta.
