British Airways passengers face higher fuel surcharges as the price of oil continues to rise on the world markets. The latest rise (the third in under four months), will add another £10 added to the price of economy and premium economy tickets to long haul destinations such as the USA, the Caribbean the Far East.
As a result of the latest increases, an economy passenger will be paying £64 more in surcharges on a return trip to New York than in Mid-December. It will bring the latest surcharges up to £85 on flight under nine hours, including New York and Boston. Further-flung destinations will see the levy reach £98.
BA's fuel bill is now in excess of £9 million a day.
