Yes, their kit is stink expensive. Yes, most of what you pay for is their name. And yes, no one should really pay a small mortgage for a bag, but this stuff really rocks.
We've tried other marques but they simply wear out rapidly thanks to our continual travelling plans and so far, none have come close to The North Face luggage we now use full time.
We've both got long-haul, wheeled large bags (28" and 30") and two smaller rucksacks that we get away with as hand luggage (40l) and they have really been shown a hard time. To date the only problems we've encountered is the lettering on one bag has begun to peel...
Special mention also goes to Deuter which is what we use to pack internally. From wash bags to zipped clothes bags to sunglasses case to MP3 players, laptop bags and plenty more besides. They supply the bags, we use them and everything keeps well sorted and accessible.
We wouldn't leave home without either brand.
