One Way System

Our hotel is pretty much directly on the river, hence the apt name, City River Hotel, and we have a busy road along each side of the river, bit of which are one-way.  Our side leads away from town, the opposite towards town.

Savong arrived yesterday in the school's minibus to collect us for dinner and we wondered why not the tuk-tuk as it's cheaper on petrol.  Turns out we had quite a party and there was already additional guests on board.  Duncan, two further volunteers who had just arrived and were going to work at the school and a couple of local lads from the school, one of which was now studying to become a lawyer.

We hopped on, made introductions (names for me sadly instantly forgotten as usual- I have such a poor memory) and the pulled into the chaotic traffic.  The driver took us down behind the hotel, along the road and then we crossed a bridge to take us back along the river bank towards town.  We soon stopped outside a local restaurant (Shadow of Angkor) but it would have been quicker and easier for us to walk there.

You could see our hotel from the table and we pass it every day to get into town.  :o)
