Britain is celebrating the 11 day Easter and Royal wedding holiday with a drinking and shopping spree worth £1.2 000 000 000 (billion) to the economy.
More than one in five Britons has taken the entire period off work and 10 million plan to make the most of the double bank holiday by taking at least one overnight stay in the country.

The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) says the unprecedented combination of two holiday weekends and the wedding will boost bar takings by an extra £600 million, on top of the predicted £620 million boost to retail sales, tourism and travel. Britain's largest chain, Punch Taverns, said about 80% of its 6 500 pubs were having a "Royal Wedding" event, such as a barbecue, to appeal more to families.
