If memory serves (Or I wasn't lazy and checked back in our archives) it's about US$ 7 for a tuk-tuk into town and it takes about 45 minutes depending on traffic and weather conditions. Usually you'll also need to allow another half an hour while the driver tries to find the hotel despite assuring you he knows exactly where it is (no, showing him the address or map doesn't help as most drivers are out of townies and can't read) so it pays to arrange a collection via the gaff you're staying at.
Ours cost a fair US$ 10 and while he knew exactly where the Anise was, the grid locked traffic (we got into his car at 17:00, right in the middle of rush hour) ensured we spent more time driving through PP's city centre than we did in flying from Bangkok to PP.
It wasn't too bad but the car was a bit ropey and he didn't have air-con, which we really missed after the luxury of the past few weeks in Thailand. Still, it was interesting to see how people deal with horrendous traffic and no respect to any kind of lane discipline and one day I should really write a book on driving in Asia. It'll be a best seller in the horror section...
