Package Tour of Myanmar

During wifey's surf (naturally painfully slow but she got results) she noticed package tours to Myanmar being advertised and gasped at the cost of week's holiday on offer from some of the operators.

Not including getting here, ie, no flights, they want around £700/person/week to stay in the same hotel we're staying in- apparently one of the best in the area without costing a fortune you'd expect to pay in a 5* gaff- and we wholly agree, it's the only reason we extended our stay.

We've been doing our calculations and for the nearly three weeks we are in Myanmar, including the following:
  • internal transport- cabs (to all hotels), train (Yangon to Mandalay), coach (Mandalay to Bagan) and flight (Bagan to Yangon)
  • visas (at the Embassy in Bangkok)
  • accommodation
  • meals/food/snacks
  • spending money
  • sightseeing tours (DIY)
we (will) have spent a grand total of £150 per person a week.

ktelontour doing it the budget way but still getting top of the range facilities.  Except for the train journey (even though that was meant to be "upper class").
